November 9, 2009 at 11:05 Not a big fan of overly emotive TV advertising made purely for its own sake, ie not extending the experience online or any other channel. But this one did manage to bring a tear to me eye. I liked it.
Perhaps the celeb factor had something to do with it, a recognisable someone in a typically unseen moment. Nice to see Sven Goran Eriksson & Bob Geldof in scenarios like this, though not sure what Emma Bunton's doing.. And how cute the blubbering tattoed tough guy. Awwww. But think it's still lacking that experience extension online. I'm sure there's always a decent spike in sales post exposure for ads like this, it's an interruption model, so it's great when it does work. But am disappointed, as I think it had some good potential for a longer term impact through deeper engagement online. And for that I'm going to cue Justin Timberlake for a bit of 'Cry me a River' while I grab me a Kleenex.
